Marie-Christine and Isaac contacted me about shooting their Whytecliff Park elopement after Marie-Christine was a guest at Eoin and Lee’s West Coast Railway Heritage Park wedding. They were totally flexible on date and time but were set on Whytecliff Park as they are scuba divers and have had many adventures together at the park. Marie-Christine and Isaac are also board game enthusiasts, and several of our early e-mails involved sending game recommendations back and forth. One of my favourite things about my job is finding random connection points with my couples – it never hurts when you speak the same language, right?! (It may also sometimes result in recruiting new friends for board game nights…)
I met Marie-Christine, Isaac, their commissioner, and their one witness on a Wednesday evening in June. MC and Isaac had their formal legal ceremony with the commissioner (and I got to sign as one of the witnesses! I’m not sure if that will ever get old…) and opted to share their personal vows more privately afterwards. After they had shared their vows, we ran around the park for an hour to take some portraits before I left them to celebrate the rest of their day as newlyweds.
