I was very excited when Jacob and Jarrod first contacted me about shooting their Blue Horizon Hotel wedding because I LOVE intimate weddings. I was even more excited when I found out that Jarrod would be wearing a red velvet suit. (Isn’t it incredible?!) Jarrod is also a photographer, and it’s always an honour when other photographers are drawn to your work.
After a champagne toast with their best man and best woman, we did a quick run around Coal Harbour for their portraits. We returned to the hotel for their ceremony to be greeted only by their very closest friends. Jacob and Jarrod’s vows were beautiful and made everyone cry (including me). When it came time to cut the cake, there was no knife on the table, so they decided to improvise in possibly my most favourite cake cutting moment ever. I’m pretty sure biting into a cake while wearing a red velvet suit is the definition of winning at life, right?! We took a few group formals before I disappeared and left Jacob and Jarrod to enjoy the rest of their evening with their guests.
