Dylan and Jacob travelled from Fort St. John for their Queen Elizabeth Park elopement last week. These two managed to get engaged in Mexico right before the pandemic hit, how lucky is that?! While we were figuring out logistics for their elopement, I offered to send them some suggestions for officiants and they said they had already hired someone. I was super excited to discover they had hired my favourite officiant, Beth from Young, Hip & Married, when I arrived on their wedding day.
Dylan and Jacob were joined by a few family members and their best friends to celebrate their marriage. They picked a staircase in Queen Elizabeth Park that was surrounded by Dylan’s favourite flower, hydrangeas. During their vows, Jacob pulled out a jar that Dylan had given him early in their relationship. Dylan had filled it with things he loved about Jacob and instructed him to open it and read one when he was feeling down. In his vows, Jacob pointed out that the jar had never been opened because of the support he felt in their relationship. I was blown away by the gesture AND Jacob’s ability to pack the jar without Dylan noticing – especially given the fact that Dylan was the one who packed their suitcases! I’m totally a sucker for all things sentimental and it was such a joy to be part of their special day.
