I first heard about Mickie and Blythe’s Peak of Vancouver wedding at Grouse Mountain at the Union LGBT+ Wedding Show. They approached my booth and asked if I was the queer Disney wedding photographer and I was 1000% sold on shooting their wedding. I have no idea who told them I was the Disney photographer (or if they had already stumbled across my about page), but I could not have been more stoked to be known for being the Disney crazed photographer. We all knew immediately that this needed to be a thing and I excitedly added their wedding to my calendar.
It wasn’t until shortly before the wedding that we actually met to sit down and chat. We met at Stormcrow (RIP) and discovered that we had considerably more in common than just Disney. These two are huge board game geeks and are bigger escape room enthusiasts than I am. I left our meeting even MORE excited about their October wedding.
Their wedding day had hints of rainbows, Disney, and board games throughout and I loved every second of it. Also, I’m pretty sure it was some sort of miracle that we got a beautiful sunny day in Vancouver in October – AND the Christmas lights were already set up. How amazing is that?! I was super grateful for the opportunity to document such a special day for two people who speak entirely the same language I do.
Huge thanks to my second shooter, Jana, for helping me with this wedding!
