Anapaula and Christian reached out to me about their Lynn Canyon Park elopement less than a month before their big day. I had never shot at Lynn Canyon before, so I was excited to see I still had their date open in my calendar.
When they arrived on the day of their wedding, I was so stoked about their outfit choices. I loved the cut outs in Anapaula’s wedding dress and the fact that Christian had perfectly matched his tie with a pair of Vans. They had already scouted out the exact spot they wanted to use for their ceremony, so we all followed them across the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge (this was quite a feat for me because heights and I are NOT friends) and into the forest. Their ceremony was short and sweet and ended with some enthusiastic bubble blowing on behalf of their friends.
We shot some group photos before Anapaula, Christian and I snuck away for their portraits. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect shooting in a highly trafficked area on a sunny Saturday afternoon, but we managed to find a few quiet areas. We found a less busy spot down by the water and these two scaled wet rocks in their wedding attire like absolute champs. I was super impressed with Anapaula’s dedication to put her heels back on after climbing onto a giant rock in the middle of the water. The shots on top of the rock were totally my favourite from our time together.
After portraits, we rejoined their guests for a toast. Christian made all the passing joggers nervous while he prepared to pop the champagne and then gave a toast thanking their guests joining them. I took a few toast photos and left them all to celebrate for the rest of the evening.
