Veena and Eli celebrated the start of their marriage with a beautiful wedding at the Squamish Lil’Wat Cultural Centre in Whistler. They got ready at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort. Eli and his groomsman (and a rogue bridesmaid) played poker while Veena’s mother and aunt helped her into her, completely nontraditional, white sari. Veena and Eli decided to have a first look and shared their special moment with their wedding party and parents. After the first look, we traveled to Green Lake to take portraits along the boardwalk and on the dock at the Whistler Aiport.
While Veena and Eli incorporated several Hindu and Jewish traditions in their ceremony, their unconventional ways were evident throughout their reception. They had a celebratory cheese cutting ceremony (cheese cake by les amis du FROMAGE) prior to kicking off the dancing portion of the evening. Sideone put on an amazing show, as they always do, and kept everyone on the dance floor all evening. Veena and Eli opted for no formal dances, but Veena did dance to Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer” with both of her parents at one point in the evening. They shared their first dance near the end of the evening surrounded by their very enthused guests. This group certainly knew how to party!
Thank you so much to my amazing second shooter, Tanja, for traveling to Whistler with me and helping with this wedding!
