This Crescent Beach engagement session was one of the books! Jem and James are huge bird people and will be getting married at Bloedel Conservatory in March. They wanted an engagement session at Blackie Spit on Crescent Beach to commemorate the spot where James proposed. We struggled with typical Vancouver weather and rescheduled their session multiple times before we were gifted a beautiful Saturday evening in late October.
When I arrived at Crescent Beach, the park was overrun by photographers. I had actually never seen anything quite like it outside of shooting in Stanley Park on Saturdays over the summer. There were at least 4 other photoshoots taking advantage of the incredible weather. We patiently waited our turn for several of the more popular spots while exploring the rest of the park.
My session with Jem and James was FULL of laughs. These two clearly have a lot of fun in their relationship and much of our time together was spent laughing. We climbed fences, we hiked through tall grass, we did some impromptu yoga while sitting in a field of tiny flowers, and we watched the sunset on the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening with them and cannot wait to celebrate their wedding with them in March!
