LAbattoir Wedding | Vancouver Wedding Photographer

I have always loved shooting in Gastown, so I was thrilled when Michelle and Andrew contacted me about shooting their LAbattoir wedding. These two knew exactly what they wanted their wedding to be, and exactly what they didn’t. 4 hours of coverage, 1 photographer, no engagement photos, no getting ready photos, no cheesy wedding party photos. They wanted their wedding to be intimate with good food and drinks and lots of candids.

One of my favourite parts of Michelle and Andrew’s wedding day was the table they created to honour Michelle’s mother and brother. I see tables like this at weddings fairly often, but theirs was at the very front. I hadn’t given the placement of a memorial table much thought previously, but at the front next to the ceremony and immediate family struck me as entirely fitting. The photo of Michelle adjusting her brother’s boutonniere immediately hit me in the feels and made me so grateful that my couples invite me to share in these moments with them. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that this is actually my job…
